was born in 1965 in Ahwaz, Iran.Her family settled in the United Kingdom 1967. She studied at Maidstone College of Art, Foundation Diploma from 1983 to 1984 and at Canterbury College of Art from 1985-87 gaining a B.A.(Hons.) Fine Art. She taught at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in1994 and in 1996 was visiting Lecturer at the University of East London and from 1994 has been visiting Applications Co-ordinator, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, New York. She has visited and worked in Valls, Barcelona, Boracay, Katmandu, New York and Florida, Egypt, Jordan and India. Samira Abbassy has had 4 Solo Exhibitions at Mercury Gallery since 1993. |
